Trauma-informed Care and Facilitation


Equity-centered practitioners are often called upon to be a resource and provide support to their respective communities when tragic and traumatic events occur on local, national, and or/global levels. This workshop is intended to provide a trauma-informed approach for care and guidance for building real-time facilitations. Trauma is complex in nature and is informed by intergenerational, political, social, cultural, and historical realities and is experienced differently by individuals and can manifest in varying emotional, physical, and physiological responses including but not limited to: fight/flight, dissociation, confusion, anger, pain, and sadness. Participants will gain trauma-informed approaches to facilitation including critical reflections and informed responses to the impacts of trauma on ourselves as facilitators and those who we interact with in the facilitation process.
